Ask yourself if Stauber really deserves re-election

Posted

Are you better off now than two years ago? Are you one of the 320,000 people in Minnesota losing your Medicare Advantage plan? That’s half of all Minnesotans on Medicare. You can thank Pete Stauber and the Big Ugly Bill for that. How about your medical insurance premium increasing by double digits in 2026 and a projected double digit increase again in 2027? How are your health care clinics and hospitals doing? They’re struggling because of the Big Ugly Bill. Did you lose your SNAP benefits? Thank Pete.
Gas prices are near record highs due to an illegal war that Pete has consistently voted against resolutions to limit or end. The world is a more dangerous place now than before this war began.
Food prices are way up, clothing, lumber, and everything we purchase has increased thanks to tariffs and Pete not doing his job. Mass tariffs have never worked in American history and once again they’re not working. They have caused global market disruptions and harmed America’s reputation worldwide, harming US businesses.  Once again, it’s the job of Congress to impose tariffs and Pete did nothing.
Pete has taken credit for numerous things in the Biden infrastructure bill, which he voted against in November of 2021. He called the bill “A path towards Socialism” yet claims credit for the Blatnik Bridge in Duluth, credit for $9.4 million across the Eighth District for airport grants, and credit for highway and transportation projects throughout the district. Have you been paying attention to this?
Pete approved of the ICE invasion of Minnesota last winter, saying they “were doing an excellent job of keeping communities safe” and voted to increase funding for the agency. He called Minnesota “a failed state” in an interview on Jan. 8, 2026 on Newsmax while discussing the invasion, a statement he flat out denied during a debate with Trina Swanson on Oct. 7.
Trump’s Metro Surge cost Minnesota at least $600 million dollars across the state, along with $243 million in lost wages because U.S. citizens were afraid to go to work due to racial profiling by DHS. We lost two U.S. citizens exercising their constitutional rights. Thousands of U.S. citizens and legal immigrants were swept up by ICE’s racial profiling. Pete failed to stand up for the state he represents. DHS spent an estimated $18 million per week for ten weeks, that’s a minimum of $180 million.
Pete claims to support organized labor and he does stand up for miners, but he has an AFL/CIO score card of eight percent for 2025 and a 30 percent lifetime record. My family was raised union by an IBEW member and a public school teacher. I don’t believe Pete is interested in us. Some pro-union bills he’s opposed are the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, and the PRO Act (protecting the right to organize). Other resolutions are HR 936 (concerning defense and collective bargaining), HR 6703 (health care related legislation), HR 1526 (legislation involving restitution for unlawful firings), and HR 77(Midnight Rules Relief Act), to mention just a few.
It’s time to decide, is Pete right for the Eighth district? There is a better choice in Trina Swanson who will actually talk with her constituents and hold in person town halls to truly be transparent. She will not hide from her constituents and will represent all of them, not just the chosen few.
