Kenneth L. Kultala

Kenneth Lee Kultala, 64, lifelong resident of Soudan, passed away on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Duluth, with family by his side. A celebration of life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Timothy Tomsich Community Center in Soudan.
In honor of Ken’s love for hunting and the outdoors, family and friends are encouraged to wear hunting attire or camouflage. Ken would have loved seeing everyone dressed this way in his memory. Family services are provided by Bauman-Vermilion, a Bauman Family Funeral Home in Tower.
He is survived by his daughter, Elaina Swanson of Babbitt; brothers, Wayne Kultala of Soudan and Terry (Lisa) Kultala of Cook; sister, Sandra (Dave) Yernatich of Plymouth; significant other, Debbie Hendricks of Soudan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
