Cynthia L. Nickolson

Cynthia “Cindy” L. Anderson Nickolson, 70, of Ely, died suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, while en route to St. Luke’s Aspirus in Duluth. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 at Grand Ely Lodge. Interment will be private with family immediately following at the Ely Cemetery, with a celebration of life and light lunch to follow from noon to 2 p.m. at Grand Ely Lodge. Please consider a donation to the Ely Area Food Shelf or Ely Community Health Center in Cindy’s honor. Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home in Ely.
She is survived by her children, Jodi (Mike) Martin, Aaron (Danielle) Nickolson and Becky (Tod) VanNorman; grandchildren, Mike Martin Rahier, Heather Nappa, Brandon Martin, Ella Nappa, Chezne Nickolson and Ethan Nickolson; siblings, Sandy (Jim) Nickolson, Tim Anderson and Sue Anderson; sister-in-law, Sue Schroeder; special family friend, Simon Losasso (AFS student in Ely High School class of 1976); uncle, Tom Kloskowski; aunts, Bonnie Kloskowski and Roxanne Kloskowski; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
