When Washington cuts health care, communities like Ely, Tower, and Cook feel it. The Trump administration’s Medicaid cuts threaten to put even more pressure on rural hospitals and clinics already struggling to keep their doors open. For those of us in the Northland, losing care close to home can mean hours on the road when we can least afford it.
That’s why I’m supporting Grant Hauschild for State Senate.
Grant can’t control Washington, but he can stand up for us in St. Paul. He has fought for rural hospital funding and ambulance services, and he’s been visiting providers across the Northland to hear what they need to keep caring for our communities.
He has also stood up to big pharmaceutical companies, fighting to protect drug discounts that help rural hospitals afford essential services. He understands that patients and local communities deserve a stronger voice than corporate lobbyists.
At a recent debate, Hauschild’s opponent said she didn’t understand health care very well and that she was unaware of big pharmaceutical companies. We can’t have a senator unprepared to tackle rising health care costs and potential hospital closures.
We need someone who will push back when federal decisions hurt the Northland and do the work to protect our care. Grant has shown he will.
Please join me in voting to re-elect Grant Hauschild.
