Tedrick scores career high in rout

ELY — In a light week for the Ely boys, the Wolves prevailed in a home contest on Monday against Carlton-Wrenshall, 88-54.
Early on, it looked like the 2-10 Raptors might be able to hang in against Ely, with the Wolves leading just 9-7 after about five minutes of play.
But Wyatt Tedrick had seen enough, hitting a triple, a deuce, and two charities, igniting a 15-2 Wolves run that gave Ely a more comfortable 24-9 advantage. The Raptors made a short attempt to narrow the gap, but the Wolves slammed the door closed with a major run, again spurred by Tedrick, going into halftime with a 51-23 lead, 22 of those points coming from Tedrick.
While the second half was a more competitive one tilted Ely’s way, 37-30, the Wolves locked down their ninth win of 2026 against just one loss.
Ely Head Coach Tom McDonald celebrated Tedrick’s career night.
“He ended up with a career high 26 and was eight-for-ten on two’s and two-of-four on threes,” McDonald said. “We got off to a slow start and didn’t shoot the ball well early, but then Wyatt took over the game with his drives and just carried us. When he is in that driving mode he makes us so much better as a team.
Following Tedrick in the scoring column was Drew Johnson with 18, while Jack Davies had 17.
