The Timberjay has launched an online puzzles page, and a few of us here in the office have already lost 45 minutes of a Tuesday to it with no regrets.
The page, found at timberjay.com/puzzles, offers eight games completely free of charge: two crosswords (Large and Mini, for those whose ambitions vary by caffeine level), three tiers of Sudoku (Easy, Medium, and Hard — the last of which will humble you), plus WordroW, Word Flower, and a word search.
WordroW, for the uninitiated, is the Timberjay’s answer to a certain color-coded word game that consumed the nation a few years back. Word Flower, meanwhile, requires forming words from a cluster of letters arranged in a flower pattern. It’s deceptively cheerful in appearance, quietly diabolical in practice.
“We are excited to be able to offer this wide range of free puzzles online with new puzzles posted every day. These are in addition to the puzzles published in the paper each week, which we know are very popular with our readers,” said Jodi Summit, the Timberjay’s co-owner.
The puzzles are accessible to subscribers and nonsubscribers alike.
