Lloyd V. Staab
Lloyd V. Staab, 92, of East Moline, Ill., passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Divine Mercy Parish at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis, Ill. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum in East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Divine Mercy Parish at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or Hand in Hand, 3860 Middle Rd, Bettendorf, IA 52722. Arrangements are with Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline.
Lloyd was born on March 20, 1933, in Chillicothe, Ill., the son of John and Nellie Marie Ziegler Staab. He was a proud graduate of United Township High School in the class of 1951. Upon graduation, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army with the 25th Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. Lloyd married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Cuvele, on May 21, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in East Moline. They shared 70 wonderful years of marriage. He was employed at the John Deere Harvester Works for 31 years, retiring as the Night Superintendent. He was proud to say he had carried out a personally significant milestone of being retired longer than his active employment. In retirement, he and Marilyn enjoyed their summers at their beloved Golden Pond in Northern Minnesota.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Marilyn Staab; children, Jeff Staab and Jayne (Jim) Field; and cherished grandchildren, Julia (Jake) Valente and Captain (USMC) Joe (Riley) Field.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Irwin Staab.
Marvin A. Hietala
Marvin Arnold “Marv” Hietala, 85, of New Brighton, originally of Pike Township, died on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. No funeral services are planned at this time. Interment will take place at the West Pike Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home of Virginia.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Keith) Cooper; son, Steven Altobelli; sister, Linda Gish; and grandchildren, Erin Day (Spencer), Karen Diaz, Rochelle Petersen (Neil), Crystal Altobelli, Mitchell Bzdok and Brittny Frie.
Linda M. Siegfried
Linda M. “Lin” Siegfried, 75, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, formerly of Cook, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at her residence. Per her wishes, her body was donated to science and there will be no public funeral services. Arrangements are with Eley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wapakoneta.
Lin was born on July 1, 1950, in St. Paul, the daughter of Edward W. and Shirley M. Dohrer Siegfried. She retired as a probation and parole officer in Washington County. She was active in local politics while she lived in Minnesota. She enjoyed spending time working on her cabin in southeast Ohio and working with sled dogs; she adored children and animals alike.
Lin is survived by a daughter, Harley (Skyler) Pajari of Van Wert, Ohio; grandson, Liam Pajari; and two siblings, Edward M. “Ed” (Joan) Siegfried of Farmington and Joni (Mark) Smeitana of Escondido, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Christopher J. Running Bear Sr.
Christopher James Running Bear Sr., 54, of Embarrass, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was an enrolled member of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate tribe located on the Lake Traverse Reservation in South Dakota and a member of the Bois Forte community. A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
He is survived by Leslie Pflueger, Michael Running Bear, Francis Running Bear, Thomas Running Bear, Travis Running Bear, Christopher Running Bear Jr., Carol “Cleo” Running Bear and Zacariah Warlof, Kendrick Running Bear, Onyx Running Bear and Idris Running Bear.
