History will record that Trump was responsible for nullifying efforts to curb climate change. He is keeping open, for example, one coal-fired power plant in Michigan. According to Bloomberg News, 81 premature deaths and $900 million in health care costs have been attributed to the plant’s pollutions.
Trump is also responsible for curtailing renewable clean energy sources such as solar and wind.
Meanwhile, MethaneSat, the world’s most advance methane-detecting satellite, shows that emissions from oil and gas exceed what is reported from ground level studies.
Emissions of methane are the leading driver of climate change. The Texas Permian Basin oil field emits 410 metric tons of methane 24 hours a day. Over the years, thousands of abandoned wells are still emitting methane.
Trump is forcing the Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, to withdraw the 2007 “Endangerment Finding” which says that greenhouse gases harm public health.
The accumulative increase of heat, primarily from fossil fuels, is causing the severe climate change that results in destruction and increasing deaths. It is manifested by floods, droughts, accelerated winds, destruction of infrastructure, homes, factories, commercial, and public buildings. Do you think Trump has or will have any remorse about the number of deaths and property destruction from his elimination of the efforts to curb climate change?
