Expressing gratitude through humility

SPIRITUALITY (breath-of-life) in the month of May, harbinger of springtime, signals rebirth and renewal. Beyond the material and mundane, we venture into the mystery of being, becoming and belonging. Free from imposed beliefs, rules, ritual, doctrine and dogma, we experience a personal journey in concert with life itself.
CONSCIOUSNESS in spirituality refers to a symphony, a flowing rhythm in a seamless sea of oneness with all that is. Inseparable and without superior station we are bound together in a vast cosmic dance. A quest for meaning and purpose in something greater and beyond to the profound and beautiful.
TRANSCENDENCE in consciousness is the interconnection in creative composition with all of humanity and nature. Beyond the either-or, theist/atheist divide, difference and boundary vanish into spiritual unity of wholeness in being. Me becomes we, “what is” becomes “the art of possibilities” and parts mesh together in harmony toward the greater good of all living things.
SACRED in spirituality, beyond a fact-value dichotomy frames a set of human values that begins with, “I experience, therefore, I am.” An interdependent world thrives with respect, reciprocity, relationship and reverence, not with inanimate representation or things, but in mindfulness attuned with the animate.
DIVINE in spirituality, beyond the false secular/sectarian schism refers to a deep and ultimate affiliation within oneself, others and nature. No beginning and no ending, an eternal unfolding movement as one in orchestration with being and becoming. In awe and wonder we encounter the divine in the music and mystery of the cosmos.
GRATITUDE amplifies our capacity to experience within what is nearer to truth, beauty, goodness, and love. An attitude of scarcity imposes boundaries, a spirit of abundance breaks through to open new possibilities. In expressing our gratitude, “humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.”
