REGIONAL- Three North Woods cross country runners scored all-conference honors for their performances at the Polar League championship meet at Pincushion Trails in Grand Marais on Oct. 10.
The meet champion South Ridge boys were paced by North Woods’ Alex Burckhardt, who finished fourth with a time of 17.22.5. The Grizzlies’ Kahlil Lightfeather-Spears finished 11th with a time of 18:06.5, one spot out of all-conference honors, and Lincoln Antikainen narrowly missed cracking the top third of the field, placing 15th with a time of 18:33.5.
For the third-place Panthers girls, the Grizzlies’ Zoey Burckhardt was the pacesetter with a time of 20:49.1, good enough for third. Addison Burckhardt joined her sister and broher in earning all-conference honors with a fifth-place finish and a time of 21:17.
