SANDY TWP- A trailer house here was declared a total loss in the wake of a fire Tuesday morning, March 24, along Oberg Rd. No one was injured in the blaze and neither the homeowner nor the renters were present when the fire was reported.
The renters were contacted and eventually arrived on the scene. The Red Cross will be offering assistance to the renters due to the loss of their residence and some possessions.
The cause of the fire is not believed to be the result of a criminal act.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pike-Sandy, Vermilion Lake, and Mt. Iron fire departments, along with Lake Country Power.
