Timberjay photographer David Colburn made the drive to Elephant Lake on Saturday for the 38th Annual Melgeorge's Antique and Classic Snowmobile Race. With the warmer and drier than average winter, it took some extra thought and preparation for Steve Koch to create a suitable course for the timed circuit racing. Even after etching the surface of the ice to provide some traction for the snowmobiles, some drivers might have called this race the "Fishtail 500" for all of the skids and twirls sled drivers encountered. Here are pictures of a few of the participants.
