BEATTY TWP — A seasonal cabin near Elbow Lake was destroyed in a Saturday afternoon fire in Beatty Township north of Cook.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatchers received several calls at approximately 2:35 p.m. on June 6 reporting heavy dark smoke in the area of Crane Lake Road and Kennedy Road, about 15 miles north of Cook.
Firefighters and first responders arriving at the scene found an unoccupied seasonal cabin fully engulfed in flames.
The cabin was considered a total loss. An older boat and several nearby outbuildings also sustained heavy damage in the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Cook Fire Department, Orr Fire Department, Buyck Fire Department, MN DNR, Cook Ambulance, and the Virginia Ambulance Sprint Medic unit.
