The 67th annual edition of the North Star Stampede in Effie, the country's oldest family-run rodeo continuously operating in the same arena, got back to nearly pure rodeo and fun this year, with little mention of the state's past actions taken against Cimarron Pitzen over the COVID pandemic.
The bleachers and campgrounds were jam-packed as more than 100 cowboys and cowgirls competed over four days for buckles and cash prizes in a host of traditional rodeo events. Timberjay photographer David Colburn was there on Friday and Saturday to caputure some of the action.
