ELY - Paul Colwell is taking over the reins of the Ely-Winton Historical Society upon the retirement of long-time manager Margaret Sweet.
Colwell, a Texas native, recently moved to this area from Boston, Mass. He said he is very interested in the local history and has made it his priority to learn as much as he can about this area.
Colwell has ample experience with historical research, archive maintenance, community relations, social media communications, and computer work. Additionally, he plans to earn a Museum Studies Certificate from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He and his wife Charlene (nee Haapala) currently live in Babbitt.
