VIRGINIA - An Indiana man pled guilty here last week in the June 2018 slaying of Christina Marie Woods.

Daniel Lynn of South Bend, Ind., pled guilty to a second-degree murder charge after he admitted he went to a cabin owned by his family near Cook last year and strangled Woods to death.

On July 2, law enforcement officials discovered Woods’ remains in a shallow grave on the rural Cook property. Bleach stains on the property’s lawn suggested that Lynn had attempted to conceal the murder.

A police report in South Bend indicated Lynn had confessed the killing to an Indiana local, who reported it to Crimestoppers in the area. Lynn’s wife also indicated she had witnessed the killing and the couple were planning on fleeing their South Bend home. According to court documents, Lynn and Woods had been in a relationship at the time of her murder.

Police in Michigan captured Lynn on July 13.

According to a press release from the St. Louis County attorney’s office, Lynn is expected to receive 200 months in prison for the killing at a sentencing hearing on Feb. 25 in Virginia.
