“Wednesday was a really tough day to play golf,” North Woods girls head coach Kandi Olson said. “It rained during the entire tournament, but these kids powered through without a single complaint. I was really proud of their great attitudes even though they were cold and wet for nearly five hours.”
The North Woods boys went on to play at the Virginia Invite on Friday, with Tate Olson securing the ERC’s Medalist of the Year honors for low scoring average with a round of 68.
“Considering (Tate) also plays baseball, it is an impressive feat to be so successful at golf,” North Woods boys head coach Will Kleppe said. “He is dedicated to improving his game every time he goes out to play, so his dedication has paid off.”
Chase Kleppe (88), Frazee (92), Scofield (93) and Davis Kleppe (95) followed for the Grizzlies.
The North Woods girls finished in third place at Friday’s ERC meet in Ely.
