HIBBING – Ely fell behind quickly and never recovered, falling to Mountain Iron-Buhl, 101-20, in the Section 7A playoffs here Wednesday at the Hibbing Memorial Arena.

The Rangers led 54-4 at the half after going on a 45-0 run at the game’s start.

The Wolves' Shayla Zaverl led her team with eight points. Brielle Kalberg added six, while Erika Mattson, Kalley Fisher and Susan Cook each contributed two.

Five Rangers reached double-digits in scoring with Mya Buffetta dumping in a game-high 18 points, including four treys. Chelsea Mason wasn’t far behind with 16 and also hit four from three-point land. Mary Burke contributed 14, while Tatum Primeau and Madisen Overbye finished the game with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Ely was four for six from the free throw line while MI-B was six for six from the charity stripe.
