Fourth of July 10K in Tower
10k Run, 3-Mile Walk, 1-Mile Kids Run
Don't miss this year's Vermilion 10K Run, 3-Mile Walk and 1-Mile Kids Run on Saturday, July 4
Race starts at 8 a.m. Register on race day starting at 6:45 a.m.
The race, now in its 33rd year, is part of the Tower-Soudan Fourth of July Celebration
Register starting at 6:45 a.m. at the race start on Main Street, across from the Tower Fire Hall. Register in advance at The Timberjay (218-753-2950), or download a registration form from www.timberjay.com, or email jodi.summit@gmail.com.
10K Run and 3-Mile Walk start at 8 a.m. Run the scenic “around the horn” loop from Tower to Soudan to McKinley Park to Hoodoo Point back to Tower. About half the run is on paved bike trail. Walkers take the paved bike trail to Hoodoo Point Campground and back to Tower. Cost is $10 for the 10K Run or $5 for the 3-Mile Walk. This year’s t-shirts feature a red, white, and blue design and are available for $20 on race day (sale prices available for previous year shirts).
One-Mile Kids Fun Run starts at 8:15 a.m. Kids run is free or $5 with a t-shirt (choose from available shirts from previous years races). The kids run takes place on the paved bike trail behind the Tower Civic Center.
Prizes awarded in age categories for runners. Race is timed and results posted on the Northland Runner site.
The race is sponsored by Friends of the Vermilion Country School.
