Cook Hospital will host its seventh Wellness Fair on Saturday.
The fair, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature 30-plus booths on health-related topics.
In addition, Cook Hospital staff will be offering blood pressure checks, blood glucose checks, bone density scans and grip-strength testing.
Those attending the Wellness Fair can also register for prizes including a fish finder, tent package or certificate for a pair of snowshoes. Many door prizes have been donated by local businesses.
There will be a separate children’s area for those guests under the age of 12.
The Wellness Fair will coincide with an open house in honor of the Cook Hospital’s Spreading Our Wings expansion. Visitors are invited to check out the new outpatient services area and emergency room at the hospital. Tours will be provided as available.
In conjunction with the Wellness Fair, the Cook Hospital will also be holding its annual Shake-A-Leg Walk/Run. Registrations for the five-kilometer event begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the Doug Johnson Recreation Ares. The actual race starts at 9 a.m. Procceds from the event will be donated to the Cook Area Food Shelf.
More than 90 people have preregistered to take part in the Shake-A-Leg Walk/Run.
