Many years ago, Greenwood Township wanted to regulate cabin rentals. There was a small group of people who constantly complained to the board about nearby ‘rentals’ causing problems. These folks never called the police, they whined to the board. I called the Sherrif’s Department about the issue. They got back to me stating they’d ‘never received any complaints regarding renters, only owners have caused noise complaints’. Most residents that complained were unhappy that anyone at all was using the cabin. Many 2nd or 3rd generation cabin owners do not live on the Range with the ability to use their places every weekend. They may rent to help with expenses, or just to keep things ‘up and running’. Even the greedy federal government allows for renting a vacation property out for 2 weeks a year without reporting the income. Most complainers have attitudes of I’ve got mine’. Leave them be already. Control and over-regulation has gone far enough with our government.
