But, as one who works with the EPA and MPCA I have learned and have been very disappointed in their lack of knowledge. The unrealistic sulfate standard is easy to attack. They also lack knowledge of stack emissions. Noteably the haze rule. They demand stack monitoring of sulfer dioxide while burning natural gas. Yes, there is sulfer in the ore but it doesn't change much and is so low it is not a factor in the air. I, myself, believe the reason that they have not inforced regulations is because they don't understand them themselves.
