The wolves definitely created high mortality on the calves in many of Mech's studies plus the DNR study.

But adult moose were affected by many diseases,worms,ticks etc. which I have seen first hand. These hurt the adult population more than wolves

The whole story,wouldn't be complete without recognizing mortality has many culprits and it becomes cumulative. Eliminate some of the problems,at least short term and Moose will be Okay.

I think the moose studies are a great idea,it just looks like different methods of capture should of been adopted earlier.

It was time to close moose season,but moose season had zero effect on long term loss of a single moose in the population.
