Yes Tom Bakk. I think about Oberstar every time I can't fish on the U.S. side of LaCroix, travel around the U.S. point on Basswood and not use a snowmobile to go trout fishing on Trout, Knife and Thomas. I think about Oberstar every time I'm reminded of him promising the Snowmobile Manufacturers Association and the International Snowmobile Association that he would work hard to keep snowmobiles in the BWCA. I think about Oberstar every time I am reminded by a former staffer that after the snowmobile groups met with him, he promised the Sierra Club (and their umbrella of environmental groups) that he would not allow snowmobiles in the BWCA.
I am constantly reminded of how Oberstar took away the way of life of working people in northeastern Minnesota. What a great guy?
