Since my wife and I bought are land in 1986 and slowly built our lake home near Bay View as we could afford I guess that makes us 612er's and outsiders for the remainder of time. However we love the area and most of the people in the area and do everything we can to support the local economy including almost $4800 in property taxes. We grocery shop locally, fullfill all of our hardware/lumber needs in Tower and even buy from the local economy and take the goods back to the twin cities. Until May of 2010 Bay View Lodge was never an issue. Yes there was increased noise living near a resort but it was the noise generated by boats pulling kids on tubes etc... and the sound of them enjoying themselves. Since May 2010 we have been accosted by extremely loud music played on the Tiki deck, intoxicated people who think they can sing through a kareoke machine, drunken people screaming at the top of their lunges in the middle of the night. We apparently no longer have the right to enjoy the property we have worked so hard to have. I might suggest that the person on Birch Point that enjoys the music should get a new battery for their hearing aids.
