The D. C. Attorney's General office will decide whether anyone will be prosecuted for an incident in which NBC News reporter David Gregory displayed what was said to be a high-capacity gun magazine on "Meet The Press".

(The Metropolitan Police Department) has completed the investigation into this matter, and the case has been presented to the OAG for determination of the prosecutorial merit of the case, D.C. Police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump wrote in an e mail.

Gregory held up the magazine on the December 23 "Meet The Press" episode, when he was interviewing National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre about the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.

High capacity ammunition magazines are illegal in the District, where the show was filmed.
